VERMONT SNOW PAINTINGS
By Aldro Thompson Hibbard (1886 - 1972).
Vermont is a state of the United States, one of the six New England states lying in the northeastern corner of the country.Vermont is like Kashmir. Lakes, hills, rivers, greenery, snow ,flowers ,fruits and birds. I was there in 2019. I also saw some snow paintings of Vermont landscape by well known American artist Aldro T Hibbard .
Trained at the Boston Museum School, Hibbard carried forth the tenets of traditional academic art into the 20th century.Aldro T Hibbard was from Falmouth, Massachusetts (USA).Hibbard belonged to the Boston School of Art. The founders of the Boston School explicitly rejected modernism that travelled to America with the force of an explosion in New York and Chicago. In Boston , it elicited little more than a shrug.
Hibbard's work is on display in Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington D.C., Currier Gallery of Art, New Hampshire, Harvard University Art Museums, Massachusetts, Museum of the National Academy of Design, New York City , Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia and many more art galleries and museums.
Simply beautiful ....
