WHEN PRESIDENT DR. RAJENDRA PRASAD STAYED FOR FOUR DAYS AT JAMMU

Jammu turned en fete in April 1954when Dr Rajendra Prasad visited the city of temples for four days. After the formation of elected Government , the Reception style to VIP also changed . No glittering Catering , Hunting and costly presents as it used to be during Maharaja's time. The VIP witnessed Arts And Crafts Exhibition and laid foundation stone for construction of Boulevard round Tawi. He also attended a reception held in his honour by Jammu Muslim Auqaf Committee. He also visited Gandhi Bhawan apart from seeing the widened old Bhabra Bazaar . Dr Rajendra Prasad also attended a reception held in his honour by Jammu Municipality.Accompanied by Dr Karan Singh and Bakshi Ghulam Mohd, He also paid a visit to famous Raghunath ji Temple .

At Dogra Art Gallery, Dr Rajendra Prasad was all praise for the work done by Master Sansaar Chand Baru well known Artist from Jammu.

Dr Rajendra Prasad also visited Satwari Cantonment and paid a visit to Govt Hospital Shalamar Chowk Jammu.People thronged on roads to greet the VIP. His visit gave a Filip to some development works in Jammu..
