5 Lakh people joined this Gala Festival of Music and Performing Arts for 3 days.
There at the venue, Joan Baez sang the famous Peace Cry " We shall overcome someday ". She was in an advanced stage pregnancy ; But for world peace , she joined and walked up to the stage and sang putting her soul to the words.

During the three days of the Woodstock festival, there were no incidents of violence among the half-million people in the audience..
