SILENCE OF WINTER AND ARTIST PETER ROTTER

SILENCE  OF THE  WINTER...Oil on canvas .by Peter Rotter..

Peter Rotter is a Canadian Artist ,a master in presenting silence through his fantastic landscapes. Saw his work .It is refreshing , Nostalgic and full of memories for people who have felt the silence of winter after a heavy  snowfall.

And, what do great minds say about this  Silence ?

(1)
" It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.".. Mahatma Gandhi
(2)
"Silence is sometimes the best answer. "Dalai Lama
(3)
"Nothing strengthens authority so much as silence." ..Leonardo da Vinci
(4)

"The music is not in the notes, but in the silence between. " Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

(5)
"We need silence to be able to touch souls. " Mother Teresa

(6)

"Confidence is silent. Insecurities are loud. " Vinoba Bhave
(8)

"Silence is argument carried out by other means. " ..Che Guevara
(9)

" I have only one confidant, and that is the silence of night. "Soren Kierkegaard
(10)

" The world is never quiet, even its silence eternally resounds with the same notes, in vibrations which escape our ears. As for those that we perceive, they carry sounds to us, occasionally a chord, never a melody. " Albert Camus.

And  exiles from snow clad hills who are forced to live in heat and dust of plains , know well what this wintry silence means to them. Painfully ,they miss it in alien Lands.

I end this mini post with lines from poem 'Seeds'   by Sherko Bekas . Sherko was well known kurdish poet who lived mostly as an exile far away from his home land.

 ( Seeds )

“We were millions
An old tree
A young tree
We were seeds
The helmet of Ankara
In a bloody night came
To uproot us
They did,
They took us away long away!
On the way many old trees bent
In the cold many young trees died
They froze
Many seeds were trampled
They were lost and forgotten
Like a river in the summer we had little water
Like birds in the autumn, we became fewer
We ended up in thousands of homes
There were still seeds among us, the wind took them
The wind returned them
They reached the thirsty mountains
They hid among the rocks
The first rain
The second rain
The third rain
They grew again
We are now a forest again
We are millions “
