ON 26TH JANUARY 1954 , PANDIT JAWAHAR LAL NEHRU INVITED ENTIRE CABINET OF J&K STATE TO THE REPUBLIC DAY CELBERATIONS

JANUARY 1954 , NEW  DELHI

On 26th January 1954, Entire cabinet headed by Bakshi Ghulam Mohd was in New Delhi as Guests of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Pandit Ji had invited them for the grand Republic Day Function. on 28th January 1954, this team was also invited for a Lunch by Dr Rajendra Prasad president of India.

Justice Shahmiri ,  G L Dogra , Bakshi Ghulam Mohd , Dr RajendraPrasad , G M Sadiq , Syed Mir Qasim and D P Dhar can be seen in this picture .

It may be pertinent to mention that Justice Shahmiri, LD Suri and Wazir Janki Nath went to England in 1929 to complete Bar at Law and  the mentor of Girdhari Lal Dogra was the veteran Congress leader and Nationalist from Amritsar known as Barrister Saif Ud Din Kitchloo .Dogra Ji had a very close association with Saif Ud Din Kitchloo, who incidentally happened to be of kashmiri origin and son of a prominent Pashmina shawl and saffron trader of Punjab..

In Amritsar, a chowk and a colony known as Kitchloo Nagar is named after this great Nationalist. His role in India 's freedom struggle and Jalianwala Bagh tragedy is exemplary ,patriotic, secular and on an equal footing with Dr Satya Pal , his friend and his Nationalist companion from Amritsar. He died in 1963 at  New Delhi.
