BE CAREFUL AT THE PETROL PUMP.

                                ( The bill)

( The right method)

                       ( Suspicion )
MAY BE YOU ARE BEING CHEATED BY THE PETROL PUMP ATTENDENT. BE CAREFUL....

If you are a regular car user ,here are some basic  safety tips to be followed while you go to  pumps for  filling  petrol in your vehicle.:

(1) Always fill petrol at one trusted petrol pump. Only during exigency you may change the pump.

(2) Look that the petrol meter is brought to zero level before the attendent starts filling your tank.

(3) Don't enter into any discussion with other attendents at the pump while your petrol is being filled.

(4) Ensure that the attendent filling your petrol sets the filling on  auto stop and removes his hands from the nozzle during the filling process.

(5) Don't get distracted by any attendent who comes for  washing  your bonnet or front glass. Keep your eye on the pump meter till your filling stops.

(6) Check the meter indicator inside your car as well to get a rough idea  about the quantity of petrol you received .

(7) If you find the attendent fiddling with the nozzle knob or pressing it while filling the petrol, ask him to keep hands off.

(8) You can ask for paper bill for petrol generated by the electronic system . It shows the quantity of petrol dispensed, rate ,amount payable, your vehicle number, time ,name of the pump, type of the fuel and all other details. Neither do consumers demand it nor do the attendents at the pump generate this. At the most you are  handed over  a paper bill for the ATM card swipe amount.

(9) If you find you have been cheated, lodge complaint with the company , owner and  get it recorded. Every petrol pump is required to keep a complaint register.

All is not well at all petrol pumps. All petrol pumps attendents may not be cheating public but some surely do it. Take care.
