BANARASI SWEETS KHAR MUMBAI..

SAHIR LUDHIANAVI WOULD OFTEN GO TO THIS SHOP IN KHAR ( MUMBAI ) TO HAVE HIS LASSI....

Adds Music Director Anu Malik:

“ My father Sardar Malik adored poet Sahir Ludhianavi ..He would always say “There will be poets and Poets and Poets in films but never another Sahir”. I vividly remember that Sahir uncle was fond of Punjabi Lassi. Quite Often , My father, Sahir uncle and D N Madhok would go to khar Bazaar to a shop called Banarasi Sweets and order Lassi without sugar. Dad would take me along.They always thought that I was a child of 10 years and I would not have it. I had to insist that I needed sweet Lassi with Malaai. And sahir uncle would say ‘Bhai Anu ke liye meethi baaki sab ke liye  plain lassi.”
