Hollywood actress Meg Ryan remains the undisputed queen of Romantic comedy . I saw her in an action thriller PROOF OF LIFE. I am informed by a friend that for this movie , she received a fee of 15 Million US Dollars and made her name as the highest Paid actress in Hollywood.
Meg Ryan inherits acting from her mother Susan Hyra Jordan. Susan was herself an actress and casting director .Inspite of being a celebrity, Meg finds time to work for the poor and underprivileged . In fact many in Hollywood do so. Some work for the Tibetean cause , some for the slum children and some for victims of war and violence. Meg works with CARE in India and also for empowering women in poor countries.
Meg split from Dennis Quaid in 2001 ending her 10 year marriage .She adopted a Chinese girl Daisy True as her daughter . I shall never forget her role as SARAH in the movie IN THE LAND OF WOMEN co starring Adam Brody. The movie was possibly released in 2007.She also supports political causes but not as strongly as actress Jane Fonda supported Civil Rights Movement and opposition to Vietnam War.
