Joined by about 700 Syeds from Hamadan , Hazrat Syed Mir Ali Hamdani came to Kashmir from Hamadan in later part of 14th centuary.300 more Syeds followed him and they were joined by his illustrious son. Syeds came to Kashmir possibly to seek safe place against attacks from Timur .They stayed under royal patronage. They were all learned men and Amir kabir Shah Hamadan was the tallest amongst them in terms of knowledge and wisdom. The contribution of Mir Syed Ali Hamdani for spread of Islam in Kashmir is unparallel. Shah e hamdan visited kashmir thrice once in 1372AD , then in 1379AD and last in 1383AD. His mausoleum is located at Koolab in southern Taajkistaan .The Khankah of shahe Hamadan was built on an exisiting structure and it is a marvel of kashmir architecture comprising of wooden NaqshNigari and khatambandi .Enjoy some views of Shahe Hamdaan Ziyarat at Fateh kadal srinagar captured by me in 2009.
Us Quom Ko Shamsheer Ki Hajat Nahin Rehtee,
Ho Jis Ke Jawaanon Ki Khudi Soorat-e-Folaad.
Maujon ki Tapish Kyaa hai, Faqat Zauq-e-Talab Hai,
Pinhaan Jo Sadaf Mein hai Woh Daulat Hai Khuda Daad..
